Book and Video in Context
As far back as 1966, Thomas first started playing in goal. This book, film and training image visuals captures the keepers in action to help them with their responsibilities for themselves and their team. Comes with sound pieces of advice that Thomas picked up over 40 years between the posts.
Thomas always wanted to give something back to the game we all love. The book,, film and education images are visual aids to be applied in training and on match day. The training drills will inspire keepers to reach the top, no matter what level.
Thomas was fortunate to play with great players like Paul McGrath, obtained a goalkeeper soccer scholarship in USA thanks to the late Pele and returned home to play a few years in the Premier League of Ireland. Thomas says it was down to the good advice he received over 40 years.
Thomas particularly thanks those who helped him to mention a few: Larry Row, Mick Dalton at Dalkey United, Manchester United and Northern Ireland’s Harry Gregg, many friends Maurice Blake and Harry Buckley and Pele for opening the door to America to receive a four-year soccer scholarship to St John’s University in New York. Thomas played a key role to create three start up hospitals in Ireland -Galway Clinic, Hermitage Clinic and Mater Private Hospital in Cork.
His late Father of the same name was a racing journalist at the Irish Independent Newspapers and a true Bolton fan and was Thomas’s No 1 supporter. Thomas’s chronic back injury stop him playing, but his love for the game never left him and he only wanted to pass on the knowledge to others.
Thomas above all misses the banter in the dressing room the most. To all who helped Thomas on the journey, he says thank you and wishes he had this book and film combination when starting out.
